Compiling the recent history of Felarya is a huge task, and large portions of it remain in the dark. Compiling the recent history of Felarya is a huge task, and large portions of it remain in the dark. The ancient past is all but impossible to assess, the truth being buried under the weight of time and countless legends. After decades of patient work and research, a group of mages managed to establish a basic timeline of events (oddly enough, they were helped by some fairy scholars in what remains a most unusual and rare cultural collaboration between the two races). The help of the Majuras elves was also invaluable in that regard. Without their steady recording of the events of the past, the Felaryan history would be as consistent as mist. The time on this continent of Felarya is calculated based on the fall of Ur-Sagol, believed to have taken place some 2068 years ago.
Under construction - Order of event NOT definitive at this point.
Pre-Sagolian times (B.U.)
The ancient Age | |
Very little is known about this Era and any attempt at putting dates on it seems pointless. Events listed there are deeply uncertain and didn't happened necessarily in that order. To this day, the creation of Felarya itself remains a complete mystery for historians.
|
The Corrector War | |
In that age, Felarya became the focus of attention of powerful and mysterious entities calling themselves the Correctors. The exact reason of their hostility remains obscure but they were hell bent on the total destruction of Felarya
|
The Era of Mirages | |
What was called the The Era of Mirages is a long period after the war with the correctors where Felarya slowly recovered from the enormous damage it received. It was a time of great uncertainty with countless anomalies, vanishing lands, flickering landscapes and dimensional storms that occurred all over the land because of how unstable it had become.
|
The Recovery | |
This period refers to the time from the end of the Era of Mirages, to the emergence of the Elven Empire. During this time, various species slowly begin to spread themselves throughout the world again. The world is, however, during this time mostly wilderness. Humans, Elves, Nekos and Dridders build small settlements in the savage wild. Historians trace the oldest (surviving) examples of Dridder and Elvish writing to this time. Since the instability has stopped, more stable portals to Felarya are possible and more visiting species arrive.
|
The Age of Elves | |
During this age, small, hidden Elven communities begin to interact and communicate with each other, sharing cultures and knowledge. Soon the Elven Empire emerges, setting up small bastions of safety in the dangerous jungle. The Empire interacts with and influences various other species. The age of Elves starts with the reign of Empress Eteni. It's a long era of prosperity and power for Felaryan Elves, followed by a slow decline and a brutal end. Records of this time are much more precise, thanks to the steady work of Majuras elves.
|
The Sagolian Empire | |
During this period, the twin Empires of the Dridders and the Sagolians dominate Central Felarya. In many ways, the two Empires are the only thing keeping each other in check.
|
Post-Sagolian times (A.U.)
The Reign of Sineria | |
The term "Post-Sagolian" refers to the time from the destruction of Ur-Sagol, to the present day. Until 145 A.U. the Dridders have unprecedented dominion over Central Felarya. this is the "Late Dridder Kingdom" or the "Sinerian Era". A century and a half is a small period considering the long history of Felarya, but the ruthless reign of the inflexible dridder Queen will nonetheless leave a deep, bloody scar in it.
|
The Rise of Negav | |
After the fall of Sineria, various minor powers emerge, but not to the extent of the Sagolian empire or the dridder Kingdom. The most recent is the city state of Negav, which emerged from a small neko town near the Motamo River
