The giant tree deserves its name, for it is truly gigantic. It's a single tree larger than many forests, so large that you could build towns and castles on its thickest branches. Because of its dense foliage and immense size there is a zone of perpetual night around its base. This has resulted in the evolution of strange and interesting flora that glow, much like what you can find in evernight forest, and some really strange creatures dwell in that dangerous place. One of the most notable dangers is that the tree is the home of two giant nagas: Crisis and Anna. The former is a well known predator, dreaded for her great appetite for humans; the latter, a well known grouch.

The crown of the Giant tree is like a little world on its own, with hills made of leaves, a small lake having been created in the bark of a branch, and gentle streams flowing from it all the way down when it rains.

The top of the tree is teeming with life, with a large gathering of giant harpies, sitting on branches, sleeping around the lake, diving down to go to hunt, squabbling with each others With each of them having their individual feather color pattern, it makes for a bright

Under them, the interior of the crown is like a sea of leaves with its own, unique ecosystem.

Felaryan atmosphere

Scientists long wondered how life at such height was even possible, as the air is simply not dense or warm enough to support life properly past a certain point. They think that the magical effect of the soil and presence of so many plants (because they directly connected to said soil) cause a localized expansion in the interdimensional film that surrounds all of Felarya causing the atmosphere to expand. The most common theory for the cause of that expansion is that each molecule of gas emitted by plants contain residue magic which interacts in turn with the film, constantly pushing it away. It is thought that some form of equilibrium has or will be reached to stop a run away effect, with the pressure equalizing as Felarya is a closed system. The direct consequence of that is that the overall atmospheric pressure of Felarya is greater than what is found on most other habitable worlds, and jungle regions in particular would exhbit greater atmospheric pressure than other areas.

As a result, the maximum life supporting height of the atmosphere is increased, and a plant like the Giant Tree have a massive effect on the atmosphere around it, enabling life to exist at greater heights than would otherwise be possible. However, it's interesting to note that areas such as deserts have a thinner atmosphere and lower air pressure, as those regions lack the extensive vegitation needed to expand both the volume and the ammount of gas in the atmosphere.

As different regions of Felarya have their own atmospheres with their own volumes and pressures the atmosphere overall would try to equalize. However as there pressure fronts meet vast storm fronts are created as the massive volumes of air interact with each other. These storms are fixed as the different air pressure zones are fixed and thus appear as localised features, notably in the Great Rocky Plains and Torrential Cost. While theroies based on the different pressure fronts meeting eachother can expalin what triggered these storms no one knows when or if they will eventually blow out.

As pressure fronts seem to be fixed in Felarya and air currents have yet to be observed; standard weather patterns do not exist, rather localised weather has been observed. There are several theories as to what can cause this from micro pressure fronts interacting to from localised weather fronts; to condensing humidity, both seem valid reasons for causing local rainfall.
