Inhabitants : nagas, kensha beasts, noghdongs, podmaws, arboreal frogs, starkala bugs, shadow fishes, abyssal slugs, canopy pantaurs, noghdongs

The giant tree deserves its name, for it is truly gigantic. It is a single tree larger than many forests, so large that you could build towns and castles on its thickest branches. Because of the trees dense foliage and immense size there is a zone of perpetual night around the base of the tree. This has resulted in the evolution of strange and interesting flora that glow, much like what you can find in evernight forest, and some really strange creatures dwell here.

This area is dangerous. One of the most notable dangers is that the tree is the home of two giant nagas: Crisis and Anna. The former is a well known predator, dreaded for her great appetite for humans.

Located to the North/West of the Giant Tree and east of the Lataran Temple, this is an area of humid rainforest with gigantic trees green with moss and many unusual types of fungi and moulds. Their thick foliage give an emerald tint to sunlight Small creeks and streams are common here.

Travellers are often surprised to note the many trails that wind their way through the trees. These are mainly caused by the elephant-sized snails that can be found here, but these trails are better to be avoided though, as they can belong to a slug girl, in which case you are in big trouble if you step on it.. The whole place is rather wet underfoot, with moldy soil an

The Bulvon wood is home to many species of amphibians. Frogs, toads and salamanders are varied and common - including many giant varieties. Insects and arachnids are found in abundance too. The forest is brimming of stridulations and croaking. Larger predators include the deadly trapdoor dridders that lunge out unexpectedly from their hidden burrows to grab passers-by. Also found here are the bolas dridders who stalk travellers and “fish” for them with long lines of silk with sticky globules on the end. It’s not uncommon for a skilled bolas to successfully decimate a party of travellers one by one without them ever seeing their companions disappear.

Other reported predators include various blobs and slimes, Chilotaurs, Slug girls Giant scorpions, Giant Nematodes, Giant Flatworms, Shadow Sprites and the occasional fairy pack. At least one Naga has been spotted here too lately.

The Bach

Danger : normal
Inhabitants : escalnai slugs, slug girls, dridders, chilotaurs, groomers

The feature the Bulvon wood is most famous for is the massive grey stone outcrop know to the locals as “The Bach.” Standing around a 1’000 feet in height, it forms a huge stony island, shaped like a spear head protruding from the forest floor at a nearly horizontal angle. The grey stone has many deep cracks and fissures in it providing a safe refuge for many creatures. The base of the Bach has been undermined by the wind and burrowed into by a variety of races.

By common consent the Bach is neutral ground and it’s not uncommon to find races that would be enemies anywhere else sheltering together. Most are outcasts from their own societies. The Bach is its own little community. Reported species living here include Chilotaurs, Dridders, Slug Girls, Groomers, Shadow Sprites and even if reports can be believed a Earth Naga stayed here for a while and dug many galleries.

The bach is also home of a dangerous slug girl called Velvet.

Reports tell of some tunnels leading deep under the base of “The Bach” but no human has ever explored them fully and lived to tell about it.

The crest of “The Bach” is overgrown with forest that has been isolated for thousands of years and has it’s own strange forms of life. Reports of mad giggling being heard from the summit are common. Harpies sometimes roost here on their way to see Vivian but they never stay long. They say the place makes them feel-”uncomfortable.” Seeing how formidable a full grown Harpy can be-that’s cause for concern!
